I was recently invited to experience a Zone Facelift treatment with Steve Hunt Reflexology in Northampton. Being a beauty blogger, I am obviously very interested in new treatments, but also being from Northampton I was very excited to see something so different arrive in my home town.

A Zone Facelift treatment is a luxurious, holistic treatment that can only be delivered by a reflexologist. It is renowned for reducing the signs of ageing by up to 10 years over a 12 week programme. Created by Ziggie Bergman, this treatment uses pressure point massage, Asian body mapping and Native American Techniques, to naturally tighten the neckline, lift the face and brighten the complexion by stimulating the collagen and elastin from inside.

Working from his home, upon arriving I was welcomed into a cosy little space that had been converted into a mini treatment room. Steve introduced himself and explained what the treatment would entail. Tranquil music was played, the room was scented and I was settled into a large comforting chair, that engulfed me in a protective cocoon like feeling.

There are three different stages to this treatment. Firstly Steve, cleansed, exfoliated and applied a face mask, he then left me for ten minutes to relax to a meditation track. For the second part of the treatment the mask is removed with a hot towel and Steve starts on a relaxing face massage, including reflexology. The last section is in the form of a revitalising massage, some bits using different tools, this is to stimulate the blood flow and leave the skin looking bright and healthy. Steve then applies some eye cream and allows you to gently awake from this relaxed state.

Not having much experience with Reflexology, I wasn't really sure on the affect it would have on me, but during my two hours in this treatment something special happened. My mind and body went from feeling its usual anxious and uptight self, ready to protect itself from the world to a feeling of peace. I felt so relaxed, it was as if I could feel each part of me unwind. This treatment is a natural way of being cared for and of being healed, I could even say at some points I felt as if I had zoned out to somewhere different, a place my mind let me remember stuff I had not felt strong enough to think of before.

After my treatment I felt amazing, I loved the products used from Neals Yard, I loved the scent to the room and I loved the atmosphere set. Steve himself was perfect for offering this treatment, his calming and caring personality comes through in his work, and I can not help admire him and the positivity he tries to bring to peoples life.
