Plain Sailing Swimwear - Curvy Kate Review

When it came to booking my first holiday since having my second son, my first thought was not of a relaxing holiday, but of what this would mean for my wardrobe. We decided on a trip to Benidorm in Spain. Although the weather was not blisteringly hot, I knew it would be time to bring out the swimwear and take a splash. After having a baby it's really hard to find clothes that feel right for your new mummy body, but having to find a swimming costume that would show off every little curve, can be a little daunting.

So after months of putting it off, I started the much dreaded, swimsuit hunt. I prefer to try on lingerie and costumes before buying, but not having much luck in stores, my last resort was to head over to the Simple Be Website, and I was not let down. The website itself was easy to use and had a great selection, the service from Simple Be was very fast with great communication and I can't wait to purchase from them again. They also have some great sales on, so I defiantly recommend taking a peak at their site.

Choosing swimwear was really difficult for me, I wanted something that would support my breasts, which I did not think I could get from a one piece, but I wasn't sure I could feel comfortable showing my stomach and stretch marks either. To make things even more difficult, I also wanted something that would offer a little coverage for my thighs, not asking for much was I?

When I saw the Curvy Kate Plain Sailing Ink Spot Separates, for the first time since I started swimsuit shopping, I actually got excited. These mix and match pieces were from their Autumn Winter 2015 collection, and offered a variety of vibrant and varied tops, bottoms and tankinis, perfect for many different shapes and sizes. These pieces made me feel more confident to just look at and I promptly ordered myself a 38G PlainSailing Padded Top and the size 20 PlainSailing Skirted Briefs.

I was a little hesitant, as I had only recently been fitted for a bra (that was not padded) since having my son, and I had no idea how going by this size and ordering online would work out. However I was pleasantly surprised when my order came and fit perfectly.

I absolutely love the nautical and vintage theme for this set. The bright colours and polka dots are feminine, flirty and fun. The shape and style of the pieces I picked are designed to flatter the fuller figure and fuller bust, but would also look just as stunning on smaller ladies.

The lightly padded top is a balcony design, creating a rounded cleavage. It has adjustable straps and a strong plastic clip fastening. I am really happy with the fit and feel that the slight gather in fabric smoothed and evened out my difference in breast size. It is not only pretty but the underwire offers great support and was very comfortable to wear.

The PlainSailing Skirted briefs are designed using two polka dot patterns. They have a hip hugging fit with a medium leg cut. The skirt is floaty, girly and is created to boost and flatter the figure, while complimenting your curves. The fit gave good coverage, coming up high enough to sit on my hips without being to high and hiding the curve of my waist. The skirt also was just long enough to sit on the hip, highlighting the curvy figure.

Overall I am very impressed with my first adventure back into a bikini and can not wait to try more from Curvy Kate. The Plain Sailing Ink Spot design has been a dream to wear and I feel my post baby body was left in good hands. I am a proud Plus Size, but I have had many insecurities with my breasts since having children, so it meant a lot to feel this fabulous again. The design, fit and pattern of this set is just gorgeous and I think it would make many women feel beautiful, so why not go take a look over at the Curvy Kate Website
