Since 1891 Lypsyl has been used daily by many to moisturise and protect the lips. They are created using a blend of Vitamin E to prevent lips from becoming dry, SPF15 to protect lips from harmful UVA and UVB rays and Aloe Vera to soothe and moisturise. Though many of us may forget to take care of our lips and the importance of prepping our lips before doing our make up, this is a perfect way to start.
Along with the original Lip Balm, I have also been sent the Strawberry Polka-Dot Lypsyl and the Cherry Blossom Lypsyl. Each of these have their own colour and theme as well as offering all of its original beneficial qualities. They are beautifully packaged and all come in tubes, that can be twisted to push up the balm for direct application. This also makes them perfect to carry around wherever you go.
The Original comes presented in blue packaging, sharing the same pattern as the lip balm tube. The balm itself is clear, it has a buttery application and a natural finish. The original Lypsyl has a subtle, creamy fragrance. It is not like the others made for its scent but to provide care all year through. The product absorbs well and after using it my lips where left soft.
The Strawberry Polka-Dot Lypsyl as the name suggests, comes presented in red packaging with white polka-dot decoration. The balm has a slight orange - red tint when applied and glides on smoothly. It has a sweet fruity fragrance, which is easily identified as Strawberry. The scent also last for ours after put on. This Lypsyl last for a good time and the colour does not fade (though I should point out it is only a slight tint and not bold like a gloss or lipstick).
The Cherry Blossom Lypsyl comes presented in purple, with Cherry Blossom Flowers covering the packaging. It balm has a purple - pink tint to it which gives the lips a fuller look. It has a very sharp cherry fragrance, that lingers on your lips but may become too overpowering for some. The balm sinks into the lips and does not leave them feeling stinky or uncomfortable. After the product has warn off, my lips were left to feel soothed and moisturised.
(Here are the swatches for anyone interested in the colour of the two tints.) |
It was so lovely to take a trip down memory lane with these Balms, I was really impressed by the attention to branding of each version and also the result after use. My only con with this product would be the taste left in my mouth afterward, it was very bitter and maybe this is something that as a child I would of found a novelty but now find it uncomfortable. How ever this is just my personal opinion and I hope it will not stop you for trying these balms out yourself.
Thank you for reading my blog. Remember to take care of yourself, balms are important to use all year through as cold and heat can both cause wear to our skin and lips.
