Gorilla Perfumes - 1st Birthday

One of my favourite aspect of Lush is their fragrances. When I found out they had one shop dedicated to their perfumes, (as well as actually making a perfume with Gorilla Perfume) it became the top of my wish list to go. Having recently delivered my second son, I've missed out on some great lush experiences, so when I heard Gorilla Perfumes Islington were having their one year birthday celebrations, I knew this was a perfect time to finally go and visit.

Growing up I wondered if I was a bit strange, as I've always been really aware of scents. They've always captured memories for me, linked me to people that I love and they easily affect my emotions. So finding Gorilla Perfumes has been a magical fairytale! They share the same affinity to fragrances that I do, understanding that each one holds its own story to everyone who wears it. I love that everything is thought about in detail, the name, the appearance and what it represents. The ingredients are used to set the scene, to manipulate how you feel and to summon memories you can treasure for a life time.
To mark Gorilla Perfumes shop turning 1 year old on the 19th July, the store held a whole weekend of celebrations. Customers were treated to fragranced bubbles, samples from their volume 2 range and the Gorilla smoothie bike was out, creating a variety of different perfumed flavours. On the Sunday there was a scented song event where Sheema Mukheriee performed with aromas of Sikkim Girls. We also saw the return of the 25:43 fragrance, a limited edition available exclusively from Gorilla Perfumes for their Birthday weekend.

So on the 18th July, my little family and friends hopped on a train and made our way to join in the celebrations. We could smell the fragrances as we walked towards the shop beckoning us in. Once we reached the store we were greeted by a beautiful, homely looking store, with an adorably decorated window and lots of smiling employees as we entered.

We were all welcomed into the store and were showed around. My heart was warmed to see even my son, who is also a big fan, was included and made a fuss of. The staff had great passion and knowledge of the scents they were selling, and you could tell they loved what they were doing.

I discussed what had taken my interest and was given the chance to finally smell the perfumes I had only read about before this. After circling the store many many times, I made the very difficult choice of what to take home. Lots of friendly chatter later I left the store a very happy and wonderfully smelling customer.

As well as offering 3 volumes of perfumes, a number of B-sides and rarities, they also offered personal fragrance consultations. I love the quirky and welcoming feeling to this store. I love how involved you are made to feel with the perfumes, they even have a booth where you can listen to vinyls that have inspired the creation of the scents.

I highly recommend you take a visit to The Gorilla Perfumes store every chance you get. It is a place where fragrance is for everyone, you are not made to feel you don't deserve pretty perfumes because you are a mum, or because you are not beautiful, this store celebrates differences.

You can find The Gorilla Perfume store at 3 Camden Passage, London, N1 8EA. For more information you can contact them on Facebook and Twitter.
Thank you for reading my blog, I'd love to know if you have visited the store and what your favourite Gorilla Perfume scent is? Don't forget to follow my Google + so you never miss a post.
